In the quote above Andrea Smith draws our attention to two major facts: there is an assumption that the way the oppressor oppresses, and the process of oppressing, is uniform, and this leads people to assume that liberation and its practice must be universal. In fact, however, our strategies often run into conflict…We then become complicit in oppressing and colonizing communities from other countries. While this does not invalidate the worth of Otherwise Worlds or its contributors, we feel this is important context for our readers.Į often assume that all of our communities will share similar strategies for liberation.

Since the publication of this piece, we have learned that one of Otherwise Worlds ’ editors, Andrea Smith, has built her professional career around a false claim to a Cherokee identity, as detailed in a recent New York Times article and an earlier open letter from eight Indigenous women scholars. Excellent design, overall.Note from the ARB editors, added May 30, 2021: Overall, this has become my go to vape of choice. One could easily spend double or more on a vaporizer, and many of them will not provide the high quality results the CFX delivers. The ONLY thing preventing a perfect score, was the battery life. The ability to modify the session timer, would be a very desirable feature.
After just 2-3 sessions, the the set screw, retaining sleeve and screen are so small, after they get even a thin film of wax or resin on the parts, they become impossible to unscrew without soaking them in alcohol first to loosen. The body of the device is easy enough to clean, but the mouthpiece is difficult to take apart and clean. The only improvements I would hope for, would be better battery life, and easier to clean mouthpiece.

The fillable chamber is larger than the average for portable vaporizers, which combined with it's nice heat up time, makes for as close to an on-demand vape experience as you can get from a dry leaf vaporizer, that you can either enjoy multiple times throughout the day yourself, or with friends without having to refill in the middle of the session. The vapor path is designed so that you get a nice consistent quality vapor, flavor and temp, throughout the session. The quality of the vapor far exceeds vaporizers costing double or greater. Heat-up time is VERY fast, with the temperature staying very consistent throughout the session, a quality lacking in many vaporizers. The easy to grip and hold design, sits comfortably in your hand, without becoming too hot. It's simply one of the best designed vaporizers I've used. Having owned several vaporizers, I have to say that hands down the CFX is the best vaporizer for the value.
